ISPM-15 Heat Treated Pallets

Shipping internationally? ISPM-15 (International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15) certification is a legal requirement for wood packaging crossing most international borders. UWP supplies ISPM-15 certified heat treated pallets — eliminating invasive pests and plant diseases and preventing costly customs delays at international ports of entry.

Heat treated pallets are stamped with the official IPPC mark, providing verifiable compliance documentation for your shipments.

New Wood Pallet FAQs

What size are standard GMA pallets?

The GMA (Grocery Manufacturers Association) standard is 48 by 40 inches, the most common footprint in North American supply chains. UWP builds GMA pallets in stringer and block construction, and also produces custom dimensions for non-standard loads and racking systems.

What is the difference between stringer and block pallets?

Stringer pallets use three parallel stringers with 2-way or partial 4-way forklift entry, economical for general use. Block pallets use nine blocks for true 4-way entry and higher durability, suiting automated handling and heavier loads. UWP builds both types.

Can new pallets be heat treated for export?

Yes. UWP heat treats new pallets to the ISPM-15 standard, raising the wood core to 56C for 30 minutes, and applies the official IPPC stamp. This makes them compliant for international shipments and prevents customs delays at ports of entry.

Can I order custom pallet dimensions?

Yes. Provide your load weight, dimensions, entry requirements, and racking type, and UWP will build to spec, including non-standard footprints, heavy-duty decking, and Grade A or Grade B lumber depending on your durability and budget needs.

What is the minimum order for new pallets?

New pallet orders start at 500 units, delivered within 200 miles of Youngstown, Ohio on our own fleet. Standard 48x40 GMA pallets ship fastest; custom sizes and large volumes carry additional lead time, quoted on request.
